BenchmARC is an Advanced Rooftop Control that lowers RTU operating costs by reducing energy waste and extending equipment lifespan, while optimizing for ideal IAQ and energy savings.

Technology

BenchmARC utilizes VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) technology, allowing the control to vary output settings to the RTU’s supply fan motor. When 100% fan speed is not required, power outputs are reduced based on real-time data inputs, resulting in reduced energy consumption.
This produces a significant reduction in energy consumption anytime fan speed can be reduced, translating directly into a decrease in spending for both electricity, and gas where applicable.
This approach also reduces the amount of stress placed on central operating components in the RTU; this is a reduction in compounded stress over time, ultimately aiding in a significant extension of equipment lifespan.
Next we utilize Demand Control Ventilation (DCV), which autonomously adjusts the amount of outside air brought into a building based on its current occupancy and air quality needs, rather than a fixed rate. This helps optimize energy usage while maintaining indoor air quality (IAQ).
The BenchmARC control uses sensors to monitor the indoor environment and occupancy. Based on the readings of those sensors, the control can modulate ventilation and fresh air intake in real time.
Heating or cooling outside air requires significant energy, so reducing unnecessary ventilation when fewer people are present can lead to considerable energy savings.
